Need help, please. I have an external link “Missionary Flights
International†(http://www.beaconlightministries.org/planeXX.html) inside a
web site created in Dreamweaver 4. When the link is clicked, the linked web
site (http://missionaryflights.org/index.htm) appears OK, but when the Back
Arrow in Internet Explorer 6.0 is pressed to return to the last page viewed
(http://www.beaconlightministries.org/planeXX.html), it does not go back. I
have tested this on two different computer in IE with the same results. I
have also emptied all IE cookies and the IE Cache.

I noticed when the dropdown menu associated with the IE Back Button is
opened, I see the word "Relocated!" I do not know what this means, but
somehow, I think this is part of the problem. I also use Mozzilla Firefox
and I do not have this problem at all. I with to get the Back Button in IE
to work nomally. Any help on this issue will be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you in advance. Susan

when the Back Arrow in Internet Explorer 6.0 is pressed
to return to the last page viewed
(http://www.beaconlightministries.org/planeXX.html),
it does not go back.

The problem is that the link you were using itself redirects.
If you want to avoid it just use a link to where it redirects instead.
Or instead of using the Back button use the Back button dropdown.
Or use the View, Go to function (Alt-V,o,...)
Or try to use the Back button but *very* quickly press Stop (Esc)
and then press Back again.
Or uncheck (in your Security tab) Enable META Refresh but then
manually simulate the META Refresh using either links which a site
might provide for that purpose or use View Source to extract from
to construct the necessary URL.

A lot of people have this issue, and I haven't seen a solution. Following
is my post from 9/22:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I experience a problem with my back button which is explained on a website
titled "A Troubleshooting Guide to Windows XP."
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm That page says the following
about the problem:

Strange behavior in the Back Button

Sometimes when you click the Back button to return to the previous page it
appears that nothing happens. What usually occurs is that the HOSTS file has
blocked one or more (<Iframe>) ad pages that are embedded into the web page
you are viewing. To verify this click the small drop-down arrow on the Back
button, do you see just an ad server listed? ... well now you know .....
However there are a few exceptions. In some cases the web page can contain a
script to prevent the user from returning to a previous page.

It then offers the following solution:

- in most cases AdShield (full version) can prevent the above behavior.

Unfortunately, you have to pay for this program after a free trial. Does
anyone know of another solution?

Thanks.
