When i click the back button, it doesn't move. There is
no progress bar, it happens on every web page, so it's
not the POST or an extra foreslash. Can anybody help?

Thanks, Justin

It could be that the site you are visiting is not allowing you to use the
back button (by fooling your History). Please see this article for some
background http://xforce.iss.net/xforce/xfdb/8844
They recommend that you disable Active Scripting.
If this is malicious as they describe then closing IE and then re-opening
should clear your past History. You should also be able to view any inserted
script in your history by viewing the History Explorer Bar. There will be
something like JavaScript:history......... in your History folder under the
offending site.

There is an Internet Explorer Restriction under the following registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions

for NoNavButtons

but if that is set to a non-zero value then both your forward and back
buttons would be disabled.

Does your IE crash now and then? If it does, note the
message and repost, it might help to sole the problem.

Some parasites will play havoc with your back button. Check it out.

IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.
