i am not sure if this is going to make anysense but i will give it a g
anyway,

my current axis of my chart is displayed like this

|1|2|3|4|5|6|7| etc...

but what i need to achieve is

| | | |
1 2 3 4 etc...

so what i am basically saying is that i need my numbers to line up wit
the axis point and not apear in between them.....

can this be done, if so how please

Chart|Chart Type and switch from a "Line" chart to an "XY (Scatter)" chart.

The Line chart type is misleadingly named. It has nothing to do with
whether you want to connect your data with lines (that is an option for
bot Line and XY (Scatter) charts). Rather a Line chart is a chart that
assumes your x-data defines categories, instead of being on a numeric
scale. Where your x-data is numeric, the Line chart is almost always
NOT what you want, though some times you can get away with it. It is a
mystery why MS placed Line charts above XY (Scatter) charts in the menu.

Chimp,

Your numbers almost line up with the tick marks. Maybe that's because
you're not using a non-proportional (like Courier) font in your newsreader
for compose.

Try selecting the axis, Format - Selected axis - Scale tab, and deselect
Value (Y) axis crosses between categories.
