Hi,

Got it! :o) With each update, the update *.bin files increase the
size of the ... \AVG6\UPDATE folder. What is the common wisdom in
managing the size of said folder? Advice gratefully appreciated.
Thanks!

Joe

Keep only the 2 latest files: the *.bin (by date and time) and the *.ctf
files.
All others can be safely deleted fron the"...\update" folder.

Is there a way to d/l the update from the website, or just through the
update manager? I can't get through.

TIA

Rick

I alt.comp.freeware, sa DaVoice utan att tänka först:

Download the file to the UPDATE subdirectory of the AVG directory (note:
the AVG directory is the directory where AVG Anti-Virus Free edition is
installed).

Run AVG Anti-Virus Free edition.

AVG Anti-Virus Free edition will locate and install the new Update file
automatically.

Now 6.0.610 / 390 - got it from main site - update server is useless

If you've been keeping up with updates, the 587 to 610 should be
enough (if you're below 606, otherwise use the SMALL update for 606 or
above)

If you want to save for reinstall, get the 516 to 610 - and the any to
516, if required.

Thanks, done and it worked. There were 4 files to d/l and it's working fine
now.
