Hi,

Our customer asked us if it is possible to avoid windows XP end user to run
application and to avoid application installation from USB device.

I'm not sure that both things can be done. Do you have any idea where can i
find some help/information about that ?

thx.

The first thing I would do is to see if the users in question are local
administrators. If they are then it will be next to impossible to control
them. Beyond that I would look into the capabilities of Software Restriction
Policies for XP Pro computers or the Shared Computer Toolkit for non domain
computers including XP Home.
Vista business and ultimate will have the ability to use Group Policy to
prevent users access to USB drives if the customer is interested to
upgrading to such.
