avoid being asked to delele files or not?

I have FP2000.

Through blogger.com, a lot of pages (3000+) get published to my server
directly, without being on my hard drive.

When I ask FP 2000 to publish changed pages only from my hard drive,
it insists on comparing my server to my hard drive, and asking me for
each file that is on the server but not the hard drive, do I want to
delete it.

Is there a way to prevent FP2000 from asking, and to just publish what
is changed on my hard drive?

If not, does any newer version of FP allow that?

And if not, is there a workaround? (I know I can take the 3000+ pages
from the server and put them on my harddrive, but that takes way way
too long to do each time) (Also, publishing my entire web each time
would take too long)

Thanks!!

Yes, open the live/remote site in FP, and then right click on the folder that blogger.com add
content to and convert into a subweb.

Thanks for your solution (as always!).

I have FP 2000. I can't find a way to open the live/remote site from
within FP.

If I created folders on my hard drive that matched the folders blogger
published to on the remote server, and then specified those folders on
my hard drive as subwebs, would that work?

If so, is the way to create a subweb on my hard drive with FP 2000,
just to create the folder, then right click and choose "convert to
web"?

I assume that if I convert a folder to a subweb, that will cover the
many folders within that folder for purposes of avoiding being asked
to delete files or not.

Please advise. Thanks!

File Menu | Open Web, then enter http://www.yourdomainname.com
Remote server must have the FP extensions.

Correct

I assume that if I convert a folder to a subweb, that will cover the

That will cover all content that is within the folder being converted to a web and should solve your
problem.

Hi Thomas,

I just switched ISP's again and am having trouble again with FP2000
asking me if I want to delete stuff.

I can't find the post, but I think you made a followup reply to the
below reply of yours, and in that followup you told me how to synch
everything up between FP2000 and my new server.

I'm publishing all files, without subwebs checked. Is that the right
way to do it?

Thanks!

You need to do a complete publish in one direction prior to publishing with Change Pages only
selected. The direction you chose will be based on the which location is the most current version,
so this could be local to live or live to local.

Thanks!

Turns out I can't do a complete publish because idiot Go Daddy can't
get my server to stop cutting off in mid-publish.

The Go Daddy server is also cutting off in mid-publish when I use
blogger.com to publish my blog archives to the the Go Daddy server,
which leads me to believe it's not FrontPage or blogger.com that are
at fault, but Go Daddy's server.

Would you agree?

Well, if your site on GoDaddy has the FP extensions and you are publishing via FTP from blogger.com
to your GoDaddy site, that could be the cause of the problem.

It does have the FP extensions, and I am publishing via FTP from
blogger.com.

Is the "that" a malfunction of the Go Daddy server?

No it is not a malfunction of GoDaddy servers.

If you have a site with the FP extensions, you should not use FTP unless you total understand how
the FP extensions work, otherwise you will corrupt the extensions, and make you site inaccessible
from the FP client application, as well as adding content that FP will not be aware when you do have
access via FP to the site.
