AVI with Mp3

I can play the AVI file by itself fine, and I can play the LAME 3.97MMX fine
by itself. But when I put them together in the same file windows media player
won't play the audio automatically at the beginning, but it plays normally if
I start playing at another part of the movie. What is going on, since I can
usually play AVI with MP3 before?
