There used to be a utility that would do this. It was called "AVI2EXE"
which appears to have been removed from the net. I spent more than 2
hours looking for it without success. The best alternative appears to be
somehow convert that AVI into a flash movie via a complicated and
convoluted process and then use one of the Flash2Exe utilities out there.

How this would be done I am not sure.

Took me perhaps 10-12 minutes. Sorry :)

P.S. No; it's not my site.

Yes, Virginia; http://www.warezfaq.com is a BSA site.

A site that does not come up is not worth much. Mind telling us which
browser with version you are using?

Took me perhaps 10-12 minutes. Sorry :)

I found this site too. It does nothing for me when I can not see anything.
It did download a file; A zero kilobyte file after a 2 minute delay.
Please tell us which browser you are using. I have tried Opera 6, Opera 7,
and Firebird 0.7 without success.
P.S. No; it's not my site.

At that moment, I had been using Mozilla32 v1.6a. Since the moment, however,
where I visited the sie, and found it working, it does appear to have gone
"belly up"; you're the only who's told me this :-(

Is this true freeware? Warez?

Not warez. Abandonware, perhaps? Many, if not most of the files are DOS-based,
with dates in the 1993 range. In any case, I first saw "AVI2EXE" mentioned in
here, with several (2?) followups, so I presumed hereabouts and
'alt.binaries.freeware' would be appropriate groups.

This is the only posting I can see.

Thanks for the effort. I have Mozilla 1.6 alpha. I will install it and
give it a try.

As for the original poster, Know this. I have found a SWF to Exe app. And
with the assistance of another person, I have found a tool for AVI to SWF.
After I have given the trip by
"S P A M G U A R D E D" <[email protected]>, I did successfully hunt down
and download the indicated app. I will make a posting after giving it a
try.
