AVI Files turned to Zip Files

Recently, I downloaded several movies from LimeWire which were sent to
the proper file. When I checked them, they were there.When I went to
copy them the next day, the AVI files had been turned to Zipped files
and when I attempted to open them, a notice came up saying the "Files
were corupted in transfer." This has happened twice now. The movies
download correctly and play when I check them, but after the computer
is turned off and then rebooted, the files are no good. Is there anyway
this problem can be fixed, or is there any way I can convert these files
back to AVI files. Need Help...Thanks

Did you try changing the extensions back to .AVI? I have no idea if
this will work, just what I would try as a first test.
