is this something to so with XP

Hi
Go to this site and download the Gspot program, or just do
a search on the web for GSpot:
http://www.onlythebestfreeware.com/program.asp?
program_id=152
Once downloaded you can open the avi file in question with
GSpot and it will tell you which codecs are required to
watch the movie.
Then just download the codecs you need :o)
By the way Windows media player isnt the best player in
the world, so dont expect it to be able to automaticly
download codecs itself.

I have the same problem but I can not see one avi? where
is the best place to download new codacs I downloaded
gspot and it didnt find the avi file?

Load up GSpot, the locate the avi in Explorer and drag it on to the GSpot
window to load it. It'll then tell you what codec you need.

Odds are it was encoded with the popular DiVX codec. www.divx.com
