AVI file---burning how?

I recorded a religious function with the help of a camcorder that was
given to me by a friend. Except knowing how to press the record button
of the camcorder I am sure I know nothing in detail about its working.

So I got a file and transfered it to my PC. It made three files (1,2,3)
of the sizes 4GB,2GB and 4GB respectively with the AVI extension.

Sometime back I posted the problem of burning this files to a CD to the
News Group. I said that the picture quality does not match in the least
to the original one on my PC (which is highly better).

I was guided that I should burn the files on a DVD. And after the
purchase of the Sony Duel layer DVD writer, I have the following problem:

Using Nero 6.SE (this came bundled with the writer)I find that it does
not support AVI file format.
Please guide as to what is to be done somewhat in detail so that I could
make a DVD of the files.
Thanking you.

Nero does support AVI format.... so does Roxio.

Exactly how are you trying to import the captured video into Nero?

I transferred the file from the camcorder with the help of Image Mixer
ver1.5 for Sony to my Hard Drive and it is here that the file format AVI
is not recognized by Nero.

Go up and do a search for " .avi files", there is a long post there from
John, Papa John and others explaining how to convert them.
