AVI clip extractor....

I have a project that requires me grabbing some clips from
the middle of large AVI files. These are about 700MB each
and I need to clip out around 50MB each time.

Anything free and easy to use to do this? The AVI are's all
DivX or XVid, but I guess I could convert them to MPG or
even VCD and take the clips from there. The clips are for
projection and need only be decent quality - certainly not
DVD quality or anything.

Any help? I've Googles a bit but only found trial-ware stuff
that will only clip small bits from small files.....
