I have one computer running the freeware version which occasionally does
this. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling which would work fine until I
had to update it again.
Did this occur right after you did an update to the program? In the Grisoft
Program folder, look for a file called AVG60.cnt and delete it. Grisoft
wrote back to delete that file and everything worked OK again.
I believe that the problem may stem from installing the freeware version on
a computer that is networked.

Thank You for your replies. I was unable to uninstall AVG. I had to install
a copy off a CD disk that someone gave me.
