When you open AVG and delete a virus from the Virus Vault, yes, it is indeed
gone.

AVG renames the file when it gets moved to the virus vault(not a chance it
will run from there) when you delete the file it just goes away(poof), but
the file name has been changed and it's not in the recycle bin. I guess you
could use Eraser on the file in the virus vault if you wanted to.

Have you ever heard of an "unpoof" utility? ;o)

So it is *almost* really gone. For all practical puposes it is gone,
but not really irretrievable.

so..

Q When I delete a file from here is it completely removed from my PC?
A No

...or

No, but I doubt that you would ever be able to recover it without
special knowledge or software.

Yes, I doubt that "you"(FromTheRafters) would ever be able to recover it.

You are wrong. Unless it was at least partially overwritten, I would
be able to recover it. Even data overwritten several times can be
recovered if you are willing to spend the time and effort, but this
would indeed be beyond my capability.
