AVG Users who don't use auto update should check for large update.
AVG Free virus data base #'s are
269.5.7/771 - Release Date -04/21/07
My updates took two different (check for updates) to become fully updated.

That was a very large update, then I got another one shortly after, and one
small one late last night. Thanks again Ron!!!

also an fyi
AVG free will give you all the definition updates but when they do a version
update that is not automatic. You should do a manual update once a week for
this purpose.

Also the Pro version required a large update too with a reboot of the
computer.

With the free I get one auto update each day at the scheduled time I set, if
it is availeable. Due to the fact I know I only get the one auto, I always
check to see if any came through at that time, but I also manually check
twice daily, as sometimes I will get more then one in a day. Last night I
checked at 8 p.m. and got one, so I definitely do not rely on just that auto
one, as it may not be availeable then.

I got caught with a virus twice with Nortons, and it was a nightmare, so I
definitely keep my AVG and Spywareblaster up to date as well as Windows
updates. I hope to never go through that nightmare again.

Have a good day folks....:-)

Thanks JJ Yea anybody using dial-up that download should take quite awhile,
Also Robin, thats got to be usefull for those who auto update. I always Check
for Updates everyday myself this way here if something does go wrong at least
i know from the start which update was responsible (well at least i think i
do) .
Happy Monday Ron
