This is something that seems to happen every now and again when updating
avg, 'avg cannot detect an internet connection...etc.', I get this message
even when I am manually downloading the file from grisoft website?

any ideas?

ok, got it now but took many attempts, did the same on another 2 machines
here with similar results, must be network slow downs

when you get the upgrade , move the new file from the updates directory
inside the same folder on your other computers and run AVG for windows and
they will upgrade them.

You can also download the update from www.grisoft.com and then move the file
to the update directory on each computer and then run AVG for windows.

this bug was fixed in the update of avg 7 today :)

If your internal virus data is on version 262.1.0 then you have the
latest version (02/03/2004) and you should not have this problem
anymore.

Update your definitions, I'm already at 262.1.3.

Actually it was the update of the program engine that fixed the problem,
7.0.224 was really buggy so update to 7.0.225.

How could I update to 262.1.3 yesterday when it was only released
today?

same problem even after the latest update. This is not a bug , but a server
overload (or bandwith).

I suppose it depends where you are, in N. America its still a day before
Europe, in fact AVG reports this as an error when the definition files are a
day ahead of my clock.
