Added detection of Worm/Richi and new variants of I-Worm/Yaha, I-Worm/Vote.

Downloaded with the online update but had to stop the user interface and
restart to activate.

Was only 21K but a bit slow.

Funny....the AVG Control Center returned an up-to-date message but I
found, downloaded and installed the update from the AVG site. The new
program version is now # 6.0.519, the database # 317. The update was
so small and downloaded so fast I thought there must have been a
mistake. I'm on cable so large files aren't really a problem but
people on dialup should really appreciate the small files.

Since the new updates are differential; has anyone had problems with
their AVG updating? 2 problems: 1. AVG will not update automatically
- says failed to established internet connection - I am behind a
simple Dlink router/firewall cable connection. 2. When I manually
download the updates starting with .16 through current to update
folder - nothing happens when I run AVG. Normally this would force an
update. Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

I have similar problems:

I can no longer auto update, I have managed to access their site and
download the update,
but it will not recognise the updates and configure- they are just lying
there on the desktop !

I have tried to 'open with' because they are called 'bin' files ? but to no
success.

Can anyone help me out please ? and more importantly why no more auto
updates from the Control centre ??

Thanks,

Jim

As described on the web site: Put the bin file in the
Grisoft/AVG/Update subfolder and start AVG. The Control Center update
has been hit or miss lately because of a time out connecting. It
connects eventually

Still doesn't work for me. I have used this software for years and
very familiar with the update process - but since AVG went to the
incremental (.16)update the manual method just isn't working. Anyone
else experiencing this or have a work around?

I just updated this way on two separate PC's, no problem. Have you
done the update in stages to bring it up to the latest version as
described on the AVG site?

http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_updt6.php

"In order to perform any AVG 6.0 update to a version higher than 516,
it will be necessary to have previously performed update 516."

The most recent versions (I believe) are 6.0.520 and 318.

Like magic, it just started working again about a week later. Seems
to be hit or miss with the updates but for now we are current...
