AVG & Thunderbird

Hi All,

I use Thunderbird for mail and ng's and AVG as a virus checker.

Are these two programs compatible as I never seem to see any
messages on
my outgoing or incoming mail?

Sorry, dumb of me. I'm not certain whether AVG is actually
working with the e-mail application,

(perhaps it doesn't need to) . Whereas you'd get some kind
of info from Norton it all seems
too quiet with AVG. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid.

Long answer: resident shield should offer adequate protection provided
you don't go looking for trouble.

I have used AVG for the last several years and have *never* suffered
from malware of any kind.

A big part of that lies in practicing safe-hex, naturally.
(perhaps it doesn't need to) . Whereas you'd get some kind
of info from Norton it all seems

You need the AVG Personal E-Mail Scanner which is here:
http://www.grisoft.cz/beta/avgemc/avgemc_en.htm

This is an external utility that enables scanning of email by AVG
outside the AVG plugins for Eudora and such. People use it with
Pegasus, and other email clients.
