AVG result explanation

Ran AVG full scan on my machine. Previous scans have shown results for
each item to be "ok" or, on one occasion, "virus".
Latest scan shows a result of "change" and a status of "changed" for
several files in the C:\WINNT\System32\ sub-directory. (Although I'm
running Windows XP Home the guy who set up the machine put the system
files in a WINNT folder instead of Windows).
The files in question are kernel32.dlll, wsock32.dlll, user32.dlll,
shell32.dlll and ntoskrnel.exe. I checked back to the results of
previous scans and all these files showed "ok".
Since the scan is not indicating any infection, what is the significance
of this "change / changed" information?
Should I worry?
Should I do anything about it?
Advice gratefully received.

Try scanning your system with a different scanner. There are several
online ones to choose from. I have some listed here:

NEVER download files from anywhere unless it is from the website of the
developer, manufacturer or some entity you trust. The developers
websites ALWAYS have the most up to date files that haven't been
tampered with by some third party who is "hosting"(read Leeching or
Stealing) those files without permission.

Don't worry. Only indicates that these files are changed.
Delete AVG7QT.DAT in C:/windows to put it up.

Some files get changed because of updates/installs/etc.-no big deal. I
see you are using Outlook Express. You should try using a more secure
e-mail client. Are you still using Internet Explorer too? Here are some
of my thoughts- http://home.neo.rr.com/manna4u/keepingclean.html
