Hope someone can help here please. A few days ago I ran the latest (at
that time) AVG v7.0 and got this message '$(@BootSekto) C:' (without the
'). I was offered options of 'Keep, Info, Confirm changes' but I didn't
know what to do so I closed it with the x in r/h corner of the box. I
did a search on the AVG site but got nothing back, nor did anything come
up on a Google search! Now, the message has changed, I no longer get the
above but just 'Partition table MBR'. I updated AVG today to the latest
and created new floppy set but they don't work, I get 'invalid system
disk' with disk 1. What has happened and how can I fix it?
I'm running XPHome +SP1 and the system works fine otherwise, although I
get the invalid system disk message with Silicon Image DOS driver disk
but it still boots every time off hard disk.
I've heard of the format /mbr command but I would need to know if it
_only_ fixes the MBR or is it destructive on the whole partition and how
do I use it?
Thanks for any help.
