AVG installs another program

It's a real headach!
Downloaded AVG Free edition, and when start the installation, a screen
comes up with a name of a different program, that has nothing to do with
AVG.
This particular program is called Budget. I used to have it. Deleted all
the files containing word "budget", but doesn't help.

That can sometimes happen whenthe installers are similar in the same folder.Move the downloaded AVG insatller programme out of your downloads folder to say desktop then install it.Always works for me.

AVG may have called "setup.exe" while an old "setup.exe"
was in the current directory. Always create a new directory
from which to run installers so that you don't confuse the poor
thing.

Probably "setup.exe" from the makers of "Budget" was called
instead of "setup.exe" from Grisoft.

Where did you download it from?

Did you download it to an empty directory, or one already containing the "budget"
setup progra?

Also delete anything in Temp folder, thats where a lot of installs expand in
to setup.

It's a sign: don't install AVG ...
