I use AVG free version 6. Downloaded the free version 7 beta. On trhe
website could not find any instruction how to upgrade.

Do I have to uninstall version 6 first, then install v 7 beta, or can I
just install the beta version on top of the earlier version 6?

Is there a plug-in for AVG to Thunderbird?

TIA

Peter

To play it safe, You should uninstall 6 from the add/remove option in
control panel and then install 7

Agreed. I would make sure the old version is off the system.

Just to be on the safe side once uninstalled and rebooted do a search
for things like grisoft, avg, antivirus, etc. and delete anything that
looks related to AVG.

Thank you all for the advises.

I backed-up the old files as a zip file, after running a virus check. Than
uninstalled v:6, rebooted, installed v:7, updated the data-base. It appears
everything is OK.
