AVG... gone rogue?

Have a prolem with AVG free.

it all began when some system files became corrupt, so i decied to do a windows repair using the boot disc. Well it worked but in the process, AVG went south on me

Everything else is ok just AVG. Oh and mind you that this happened about 3-4 months ago so i have Antivir installed instead.

Back to AVG, The program says it cant find the registration code for its. So now i cant reinstall it as i dont know the code, nor can i uninstall as it wont let me. Perhaps if i download AVG again it will fix itself? Or would i just have two instances running at the same time?

I wouldn't try having two instances running at once...bad news just waiting to appen. Try downloading it again and reinstalling.

Was it the free version or the paid?

It was the free version, had no problems before
ill give it a try when i can... ya see i have 56k at my place so no way am i going to download it

Downloaded the newer version, fixed the problem
