I have a list of free anti-virus products on one of the pages on my website,
of which AVG is one. I use it at home and have always been happy to
recommend it.
BUT, I received an email from someone today saying that he had AVG (free)
but had a virus (I don't know which one, and I got the impression it was
found during a scan) and that AVG directed him to their website and wouldn't
remove the virus unless he paid a registration fee ($39.95).
Does anyone else have any experience like this? Is AVG free until it has to
remove something? Should it be one to avoid?
Thanks.
