AVG ... buggers up again!!

Sorry to all who still use this once great Anti-Virus program, but they done gone and messed up again.

One of the latest updates flags wininet.dll as a virus ... It's a false positive ... do not clean it up.

Do yourself a favour, Un-install AVG and go get Anti-Vir instead. ;)

To be fare, this "bug" is affecting PCs that do not have SP2 ... still, no excuse for shoddy work.

I still like AVG, I tried Anti-Vir for a while but I just didn't get on with it after a few months (great to start with though).

May give it another try on my laptop though :)
 
This false detection only showed with original unpatched versions of Win XP and not with any version that has SP1 or SP2.

And AVG have now issued an update that rectifies this problem.

Does kinda make you lose faith in them though.

And I much prefer Antivir.
 
Hi can you tell me how or where to get Antivir from please, have only just started using AVG but can't deal with any more mess ups at the mo!!

Hi, i have got rid of my avg because it stopped doing a full scan, and i downloaded the anti vir free. can someone please tell me wot i do about the 32 warnings it found in my scan ?
