Yes I am running both in the background, what do you suggest I do,
and how would I do it?
In McAfee there should be in the Options or Tools menu a clickable entry
that enables the "Run Active Scanning" or something like that.
Disable that by clicking on the check box.
If you want to use McAfee then use the procedure on the other anti virus
(AV) application.
Note: If you want to run a full scan with the in-active AV then in-activate
the active AV as it will cause conflicts while they are both active.
She has here own computer, I gave her my old one last year when I
bought this one but it runs on Win98se. I don't think it has the
specifications to run on XP and to be truthful even if it could I
don't want to pay another £70 to buy XP for an old computer. I did
however buy an 'Linksys wireless G Router' to try and get both
computers online, as I'm connected with broadband through NTL (Don't
say it?) but I failed to get it up and running, as I'm still a
plonker when it comes to this sort of thing.
My ISP replaced their modem with a SpeedStream Wireless router that has a
built in firewall because they got fed up with their customers getting
hijacked and becoming spam blasting zombies.
To set up the router is a piece of cake but the Wireless part was a pain.
A very helpfull support technician walked me through the Wireless setup and
I have my AMD system using it in the other room.
The key to setting up a router is the local connections.
The DSL modem must plug into the Wan port usually port 5 at the left end of
the router.
Then each system's Ethernet cable plugs into one of the other ports.
Its best to power everything down then power on the modem and wait untill it
becomes ready then power on the router and wait untill it becomes ready then
power on each system one after another waiting untill they each become
ready.
Tell me BTS have I trimmed and posted this correctly? 'Fingers X'
Scottie, you trimmed and posted correctly.
You may want to read the following and follow its directions to install

I know what you mean about teenage daughters as I had a16 year old that
barely made it to 17 because she knew everything.
Her immortality was shattered when she was in a car axident with 3 other
friends and they were all seriously hurt but thankfully my daughter was not
as serious as the others.
She is now 25 and has completed university with honers and is working for a
large banking firm and really enjoying it because she is getting lots of
training on loans and mortgage counseling and approvals.
