AVG antivirus Pro version just did a major update

In fact I was typing a letter when it popped up and told me I had to close
Word before it would continue the update. this one is mega big

Many of us MVP's have been moving away from AVG to NOD32,
since it has a much smaller "footprint" - better detection rate and less
false-positives, though it's not freeware, unfortunately.
A trial is available via the European site; <http://www.eset.eu/download/trial>
Any other installed A-V must be fully uninstalled *prior* to running NOD.

Thank god this should keep us busy for a while now that there isn't
anything more to discuss about Windows Defender!!

i still like avg- I never had a problem with it and with HD's being so large
these days I doubt if you will fill it up. Heck I am on a 40gig hd and I
only have used half of it, now if you put all your pictures and movies on
your hd it will fill it up in weeks.
