AVG Anti-Virus (Free Edition) Updates?

Any AVG users out there?
I've been having trouble getting updates from their update site for about a
week now. The described alternative, to go to their web site and manually
get the update, doesn't work for me as I cannot find a download area.
Had anybody found, downloads and installed the updates manually? If so, how?
Any ideas/instructions much appreciated.

Wich version are you using? If it's v 6 you could try this site:
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_updt6.php?avg6=fe and click on the filename (in
this case it's called d60330x3.bin) The link is not underlined.

Version 7 update is at this site
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_updt7.php?type=doporucena file is called
u7f175.bin

ftp.grisoft.com

I use WS_FTP but IE will work too. It's in pub/softw/60/fe. You'll
need to know the file number, which you can get at the website. Put
the file in the AVG Update subfolder and start AVG.

I don't think anyone has found an easy answer. I reinstalled twice
before I could update to 11 September. Whether I'll face further
problems with the next release I just don't know. Alpha

Just keep trying. I had no response until the
third day, at which time I was rewarded ...after a couple of minutes of
inactivity...with a full download at normal speed. JSM.
