the beta testing is now closed and sp1 version of AVG 8.0 is on their
website.
My advise is to wait for the updater within the program AVG 8.0 to install
it as the AVG team suggested to us.
If you (like AlanD)want to wait to see what everyone else feels about it
wait it out before uninstalling your 7.5

I had no problems beta testing it. Just make sure you uninstall 7.5 prior
to putting on this version and also make sure you write down your liscense
because you will need to put it into this version.

From what I understand the free AVG 8.0sp1 will also go through the updater
but the Pro versions will get it first.

They did not tell us when this will happen.

Can you discuss any details re: this update?

Anything about the Safe Search compatibility with FF3?

Many thanks for this Robin. I'll wait and see a bit longer, as you say (no
point in rushing now, after waiting all this time) - but hopefully I may be
able to take the plunge before too long.
Cheers,
Alan

I do not know what they are calling it but i posted to the beta site asking
where it is
why don't you just wait till it comes out via the updater?
They suggest if you have the liscensed version (or even the free one) to
wait till it is pushed out this way. The avg team did say that would happen
sometime by the end of this week

The current AVG 8.0 Download (from the public website) is build 125 (this IS
the SP1 download).
For the general public SP1 doesnt exist - it will be just a standard update
to their regular AVG 8.0. The SP1 is an internal name for the build that we
tested for AVG

I downloaded build 125 yesterday and used it to uninstall the
Link Scanner components. FF 3 does a good job of picking up
forged sites, and McAfee Site Advisor does the same job Safe
Search does with less overhead.

AVG forced the update to build 130 on today's update. Here's the
release notes.
