Running WinXP SP2. AVG 7 Free seems to keep reporting I have an damaged
install and can not update. This forces me to uninstall AVG 7, reinstall
it, and download all of the updates. At some point in the future the
problem will start all over again and I will have to uninstall and
reinstall. Anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

Try having a go next time at re-starting the PC after each update even
though it doesn't tell you to restart the PC. It worked for me.

Today it downloaded the update but would not install it. Reported there was
a problem. If you then try to run update again you receive an error message
and can not start update. This occurred on the first update. I will try
your suggestion the next time it happens. I already went through the
uninstall/reinstall today.

Of course once I reinstall then I can download all of the updates in
succession without a problem.

I've been having problems today connecting to AVG updater.

Some days its fast and somedays it just won't connect.

My problem was not connecting. Something is corrupting the updating.
