Something new in todays AVG 7.5 (free)scan, three different files (.xls)
were tagged as containing a virus.
Two wee old files, one from 1996 that was in an old saved Eudora 4 e-mail
attachment.
One file was ExcelSR.xls which I don't know how old it was or when I
downloaded it.
I have since found it ( ExcelSR.xls) and downloaded it again , it comes
from FunDuc software, it is a search and replace macro for Excel.
It doesn't show up as containing a virus when downloaded but does when
the folder it is located in is opened with explorer.
Now the other files found to have a exploit virus as I said are old and
have been around for some time with no warning being given when AVG 7.5
(free) did it's numerous scans in the past.
I'm wondering if it's just a false alarm or what?
There was a large upgrade of numerous files for AVG 7.5(free) yesterday
or early this morning so I don't know if something was changed by AVG 7.5
to make it show something inside .xls files as a virus
Any ideas , suggestions etc.
TIA
