I just installed this software and ran it for the first time. It found 60
viruses on my PC and the test result report states "still infected" for all
60 viruses. I don't see how to put the viruses in the virus vault or delete
them. What am I missing?

Hi George,

AVG will have put them into the Virus Vault itself. To empty it open up AVG,
left click Program at top left corner, left click AVG Virus Vault, and you
can delete them from there, then do another scan.

Ray.

Actually, AVG did find one instance of the EICAR virus that I used as a test
virus, and correctly placed it in the vault.

All the other viruses it found were either WM/CAP.A or WM/Npad.A, and it
left all of them on the hard drive instead of placing them in the vault.

Could it be that AVG can't deal with these particular viruses?

george i think avg is a good program but if it was not free then i doubt
anyone would pay to use it.

if you want serious virus protection then purchase NOD32, F-Secure or F-Prot

Maybe the infection is in the system restore folders?.Where does it say the
viruses are located?

What is 'serious' virus protection? I've been happily using free AVG for
years without issue.

Serious virus protection is like sex on Sunday (if you are a primitive
Baptist), viz. if necessary, not to be enjoyed.
