Hi,
Do any of you know anything about the compatability of
this TV Tuner with Windows XP? I just installed the PCI
card and the drivers, but cannot get it to work because
each time an error message comes up. The message is:
AVerMedia TV Series Application for WDM driver has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." Is there a patch I need to
download? This product listed Windows XP as a compatible
program. Any guidance would be appreciated!

I am having almost the exact same problem. I have downloaded all of
the latest drivers from the Avermedia website. I have uninstalled the
old drivers and reinstalled the updated ones (under diver details it
says it is 5.3.7.0) all to no avail. I was in the freaking device
manager so much that i corruped something in there and was forced to
reinstall windows (XP Pro) because I could not longer access the
device manager....anyway.

Customer support for my machine does not seem to be helping much. All
they keep telling me to do is to keep reintalling the new driver...no
matter how many times I tell them that I did that.

My symptoms are about the same as yours. I turn on the tuner and it
works fine. I go to record something (from my cable tv connection) and
the video promptly goes away and is followed by the same error message
that you are getting. The funny thing (not haha) is that the sound
does NOT go away. It just keeps streaming the audio like there is not
a prolem in the world. This is kind of frustrating. I hope something
video capture wiz out there can help. Also, If I do come up with a
solution I will post it.

still searching....

Adam
