Hi!

I very often have to restart the webshield after a new start of my pc
with avast 4.6, because otherwise I will get only error-messages in my
browser (site not reachable)

Second thing is: I installed avast 4.5 free version and now after an
update using the buildt-in update-function I have a server-version 4.6
and my license will end on may,3rd :-(.

Are you experiencing the same problems?

Bye,
Patrice

Mine just updated yesterday and remains Home Free version 4.6-623 with no
expiration date. I have noticed a browser time-out problem though. I
don't have a handle on it yet but it will need some sort of fix.

Ok, an update to my last on the browser time-out problem. Seems this is
just beginning to show up and appears to be massive and related to the ASH-
WebShield. On the Avast Forums I found a posted zip file, (ashwebsv.zip)
that I had to download and extract to the Alwil\Avast program directory.
Read the thread and get the patch here:

If you do this, you are on your own! I have not seen any XP-IE6SP2 browser
freezes or time-outs since installing this patch but then I just did it
about an hour ago..

OK, thanks a lot. I will see if the patch solves my problem.

Patrice
