Avast temp file

All of a sudden after scanning a drive partition AVAST comes back with a
long list of compressed files that is says it could not scan because
there wasn't enough temp space to uncompress files. What temp file is it
talking about? I have tons of space and it didn't do this a few days
ago. Any ideas? The only thing I did was a program update because it
kept telling me there was one. If this is the problem how can I go back
to the version before the update?

Thanks
