Avast Server Setting Question

Avast changed my server settings to 127.0.0.1. It does not seem to work as
well sending long messages. Do other programs do this? Will it still work
if I change the server setting back to its original configuration?

have had no problem with this function, and has found a few viruses that I
failed to trap in Mailwasher.
