Hi,
I have just uninstalled AVG and downloaded Avast in it's place.
Cant find a way to schedule it to do a scan every day at a time that suits
me.
Can anyone put me wise how to do it. It is the free version 4 that I
downloaded into XP Home Edtn.
Cheers, Jim

I don't think you can schedule the FREE version. I have the Pro (paid)
version and you can create schedules with that version

Thanks Clive, I was under the impression I could schedule it to run at a
given time.
At my age I forget to switch it on.

You shouldn't have to scan your system every day. If you have the
settings to scan all files when accessed & your mail, p2p & instant
messaging turned on & high. After you scan the entire hard drive 1st, to
make sure you are virus free, you should remain virus free, & if
something does get through your setting will then be to scan when
accessed & it will find it.

Just my opinion

you could use this shortcut and put it in task scheduler or as i have done
just on desktop and click it when you want....

"C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ASHQUICK.EXE" c:\

The path asumes youve installed using default installation path.
