avast froze my computer

Can anyone tell me how to remove avast 4.1 from my XP?
After downloading it, the computer restarted. Windows
loads, but everything is frozen after that. Any
suggestions? Thank you.

Can anyone tell me how to remove avast 4.1 from my XP?
It's quite likely that you have some other AV program installed.
If it's the case, you first need to completely remove either avast
or the other one.

To do this, boot to Windows Safe Mode (keep pressing F8 before Windows
starts to boot).
