Avast antivirus auto-update tuning

Hello,

after several tests of antivirus, I am now using Avast antivirus,
free edition. The program seems to automatically download virus
definitions and program update but I don't see a way to tune the
auto-update feature (frequency, time). I fear this feature is
stricly included in the payware version. Could anybody
confirm/infirm ?

ISTM that you can't tune it.
I see that in the Pro version there is a "Push-style updating" feature:
maybe this is what you're looking for.
I don't feel it necessary, however: I'm very satisfied of its automatic
updates.

I have also reread the help file ; what you state seems to be
confirmed in the 'Enhanced User Interface Main Menu' paragraph of
the help file.

Mine autoupdates every few days which is much more frequently then any other
virus program I've used.

Sometimes every few hours too :)
