this software loads a lot of automatic scans etc. and no explanations of how
or what they do. tech support does not answer emails. if you like risks
load it and see what it does.

I use it - seems to work quite well
has caught everything so far
-max

Anybody know whether this antivirus program is any good or how it compares
to AntiVir?

I like it. It loads virus definitions every few days and even updates the
program by itself when needed. It is now catching incoming klez, swen and
dumaru viruses I am getting attacked with.

The only automatic scan (which can be turned off by the way)that ive seen
is the memory scan at the beginning.

I have not needed to contact tech support because off their web site there
is a superb forum manned by avast technical teams and other users. The
forum probably is better help than any tech support could be. And by the
way, the program is excellent. I abandoned Norton even though my
subscription had not run out in order to move to avast.

I couldn't agree more so I inserted the forum's url. I haven't
'abandoned' EZTrust yet, as it is inexpensive but it is now a
backup to free Avast which serves as my primary AV.
