Is anyone using Avast antivirus with a spamtrap such as Spampal, K9,
PopFile or Spamihilator? (I still cannot make my mind up which of these
is best, but that's a different question)
If so could you direct me to a configuration page for whichever?
I've googled without success.

Using Avast! with PopFile. This combination works very well, I'd highly
recommend it. There are some small gotja's in the setup, but once you get
past that it works very well. The PopFile manual has pretty good
instructions on how to accomplish exactly what you are looking to do. If you
need more help, post back, we'll get you up and running.

Isn't PopFile the one with buckets, where you have to open up your
browser as well as your email client?
Are you saying this is the best of the free-ones, or the best to fit
with Avast?
Just asking before I embark on the changes. Used to use popfile, but
moved to k9 because of its dual nature.

Only to reclassify yes.

K9 fits okay with Avast too.

Dual nature? explain more...

Sorry - the dual nature of popfile - half email, half browser.
Where can I get the k9 installation gen?

Having browser based control interface does mean
being browser. See e.g. Newsplex

And k9 knows only dual classification spam/nospam. :-)

Thanks.
I think I will persist with Thunderbird and Avast a little longer.
I'd rather have a spamtrap inside my email client than bolted on the
front.
