Hello all,

I'm using Avast antivirus, and POPFile to sort my spam. My goal is to make
them work together but I can't. I use Mozilla Mail

I follow the explanations the manual gives, but it doesn't work. Here what
I did :

- I changed the port to 123 in POP configuration of Mozilla, and in POPFile
- I installed Avast. My user changed for user#pop.xxx.xxx, and the server
address changed for 127.0.0.1

But when I try to retrieve mail, I've got a message telling me this :
"Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server 127.0.0.1 responded :
unknown command or bad syntax".

If I change user for pop.xxx.xxx:user (the POPFile syntax), I can get my
emails, but Avast is disabled.

Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks
Laura

Avast requires some of the dills and files of IE 4 or higher to work. Do you
have internet explorer 4 or higher on your machine? If not, this may ge part
of the problem

i'm using thunderbird and avast

my config
server name : 127.0.0.1 port 110 (the normal pop3 port)
username my_username#my_pop_server
it work good
by sending all flow to avast pop3 daemon on 127.0.0.1

better i try to pass trouhgh my proxy server which was set on
192.168.0.1 and pop3 protocol was mapped on port 44110

i just need to change the username like this :
my_username#my_pop_server#192.168.0.1:44110

Nice trick mmmmmmmmmm, avast seem to only deal with first #

Blood
Froogies for ever ;-)
