RE: Avant v MyIE2

Tried Avant first, but uninstalled because it would (1) inexplicably
freeze periodically; and (2) would not relate to my plug-ins, such as
Google, Yahoo (re the mail alert component), and iSilo (click button,
make a pdb file which syncs to PalmOS device). Determined, I went back
out on the prowl and discovered MyIE2. At the time (late Aug), MyIE2
had one excrutiating bug-- under a particular set of circumstances, it
would open a ton of IE windows. I used a work-around detailed at the
user forums, and awaited a fix. Once that bug was cured (last week), I
knew my search was over. I've been using it consistently for over a
month, and find it to be remarkably stable, etc.

MyIE2 also permits easy turn on/off re various options, easy
create/modify grouped/tabbed windows, and works well with my
previously configured AdSubtract filters as well as the Google
toolbar's pop-up facility. Critically, it also allows me to choose my
preferred download manager (freebie NetTransport), and plays very nice
with it as well.

In short, IMHO, MyIE2 is much more power-user oriented, as it bends
over backwards to accommodate whatever aides are already in use prior
to its installation. Avant is good also, but as a general rule, it
simply does not care about embracing all the other kids in my surfing
e-neighborhood.

Thanks for your feedback BBRenegade. One of the rare features Avant
has and MyIE2 has not is an integrated flash blocker. It would be
nice if MyIE2 had such a feature.

Does now.
