Avant browser and Windows Update conflict?

W98SE running Avant browser...like it very much. When I say yes to update
from Windows Update nothing happens. If I browse to WU site all goes well
until download/update screen shows...then no more action. I am assuming
this is an Avant conflict but are there any bright ideas out there?

The Windows Update process requires ActiveX and I believe some other
Microsoft specific stuff. This is part of the scam, of course.

I haven't had any of those problems, but I'm running Win XP.
I suggest that when you go to do a Windows Update, just use I.E.
instead of Avant.
