AV group displays only last 3 days

Hi all.

Sorry that this is not as on-topic as it should be.
I am occasionally a bit nervous about posting questions here in case I am
told to 'read previous posts, etc etc.). I can't!!!!

I am using Outlook Express 6 on a Win2K machine, but I can only ever see
postings from the last three days (25 messages ATM). Is this normal for this
group, or am I missing some settings somewhere?

All help as usual greatly appreciated. Ta.

Go to your Tools, Options, maintenance in OE, & you will probably see
that the Days to Delete News messages is set to 3. I'd either un check
it or set it to 5, depending on how many newsgroups you belong to & how
much space you want to waste on unread messages on your pc. On 1 of the
tabs you can download xxx # of headers, not sure if 900 is the default
or not.

3 days is either a matter of settings in your news reader or your isp's
news server, however . . .

25 messages is far, far too low for 3 days... generally the count is 50
or more *per day*...

news readers aren't particularly good for looking for answers though -
i would suggest using google groups to search this group for answers to
your questions before posting them... better search capabilities and
far bigger pool of articles to search through...

That would be on the "read" tab, and I think the default is 300. The OP
could also go to Tools ~ get next 300 headers if they are on the server.
