I have recently set up templates on my computer. In my
template, I have inserted an autotext entry in the footer
so that it shows the filename and path. When I create a
new document from this template, the autotext does not
update to the name of the new document, instead it keeps
the name of the template. How do I make this update when
a new document is produced?

If the autotext has placed the {Filename /p} field in the footer of a
template (not please normal.dot) then when you create a new document from
that template, it will show Document1, Document2 etc until the document is
saved. If then it does not update, you can give it a helping hand with the
code shown at http://www.gmayor.dsl.pipex.com/installing_macro.htm
