Am trying to get cursor to move automatically to next
field after keying a fixed length field. Have set my
fields for which we want this to happen on to
AutoTab 'yes', but it only tabs to next field on 'date'
fields, not number or text. Anyone know why??

Hi Vic

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but are you sure you have defined
input masks for all your AutoTab textboxes?

To have the autotab work you must create an input mask for the control.
When you reach the end of the mask it will automatically move to th
next field. Otherwise how do you know when you have finished enterin
a numeric value??

If i've already set up the field lengths in table design
then creating an input mask, isn't this double dipping? I
would've thought if I've created a field length in table
design and 'bound' the table, then when keying data in
the form it would know that there is only 'x' integers in
the field and then move to next field? Why do we have to
do an input mask also? How does one define the field
length in the input mask? Sorry, reasonably new to this
aspect of access...

What about the controls already created in the table
design? If bound, why don't these kick in? Anyway, I've
no idea how to set a field length in input mask. Can you
give me a clue? I've both text and numeric fields (two
decimal places).
thks
