Hi
I have seen Autoruns recommended in this ng a few times. I downloaded and
ran it and I have a number of queries.
Under the Boot Execute tab there is only one item /lsdelete/. I was
expecting a lot more. I believe it has to do with Adaware. I assume it is OK
to uncheck this ?
Under the Explorer tab there are four WinZip entries all with the same image
path. Are they all required or can three be deleted ?
And finally there are a number of entries where the Image Path says /File
not found/. I assume these items can be unchecked.

Regards Bill

Don't 'Delete', just uncheck each of the items, if something breaks
you can always 'Check' the item again. Test each of your issues
separately, don't uncheck Isdelete, the Zip entries, etc all at one time.

Isdelete is AdAware's boot cleaner. Don't 'Delete', just uncheck the entry.
There also may be an option in AdAware to disable boot scanning, in which
case this would be the preferred way to handle this entry in Autoruns.

I also have four Winzip entries, they each have their own registry class id.
Example: HKCR\CLSID\{E0D79305-84BE-11CE-9641-444553540000}
Was aware of these entries but never tried to experiment
since I installed only one version of WinZip.

File not found example:
File not found: D:\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AdobeUpdateManager.exe
AcRdB7_0_9
Belongs to an old version of Adobe's Acrobat Reader which is no longer on my
PC.
Suggest you uncheck it, reboot and test Acrobat Reader
(that is, if you have a newer version installed), if the newer version works
OK,
then you can delete it.

Finally, create a 'System Restore Point' before you do anything!!!

Thanks JS
I have unchecked rather than deleted and things seem to be working OK. Most
of the /File not found / entries are under the Drivers tab.

Double-Click on any of the "not found" and it puts you in Regedit at that
missing statement. For example, I have 5 with the first letter P, and all
appear to be part of Autoruns. Probably something left over from the
previous version. If you haven't used Regedit it would be safer if you
don't try this.

Hi Frank
It says /File not found/ it doesn't say Registry entry not found.
I also have 5 with the first letter P and they are all to do with
System32\drivers.Possibly left over from updating drivers.
