I have almost finished my presentation and it was time for
a test-burn. I used the trial version of autorun cd
project creator 3.0. When i made the presentation i used
office xp.

Two problems:
1. I used duplicate slides to make "pop-ups". When the
cursor comes on the "roll over" image and the next page
comes with the "pop-up", the cursor freezes a while and
comes back a bit away from where it was. This does not
happen when i run the presentation in powerpoint.

2. I used an image as a backround and have boxes that are
white and 50% transparent on top of this, so the backround
shines through. In this boxes i have placed some text and
images. This works very fine when run in powerpoint, but
on the autorun cd with ppviewer the boxes turn very
unclear. It seems like much of the resolutionmuch in the
boxes have got lost somehow.

Anyone who knows why this happens?

If you'll be playing the presentation back using the viewer, it'd be wise to
test it in the viewer before you think about burning CDs. The Viewer is a
considerably older bit of software than PPT XP and doesn't support nearly so
many nice tricks.

One of which is shape transparency. The Viewer just gives you the old
"semitransparent," which could be nasty. PPT 2002 is the first version
to offer "settable" transparency.

And only two months to wait for a new Viewer, but who's counting? <G>

Ok, that explains the nasty look of the boxes. Thanks
everyone!

What about the freezing of the cursor and that it then
dissapears a second or two and comes back some centimeters
from where you left it? Anyone who knows about that?

Is it possible to download a beta version of the new
viewer to try this? I have a deadline and can't wait 2-3
months :) Anyone who knows where to download?

John

John,

Unfortunately you can't download it anywhere. You may have been able to sign
up for the Beta and get it that way, but it may be too late. I really don't
know.

Hey. You've waited since 1997 for the new viewer, what's a few more months
<g>?

Not sure about the mouse freeze. Have you tried running in Kiosk mode?
