What does the "AutoPreview" checkbox do? I can't seem to notice a difference.

If it is ticked than any custom animation you add will be .... Auto previewed
on the slide.
Unchecked ... no preview

In addition to John's response I just wanted to warn you the auto-preview
does not take into account mouse clicks, or rather it does them for you so it
isn't necessarily a true representation of the animation. If you see what I
